Litter out of Eowyn by Int Ch Simaro Bruce Darnell born 13 October 2012

Fifteen weeks

Fourteen weeks

We've been getting some photos of the pups in their new homes. They have all settled in well and are doing very well at learning their future tasks (a video of Maize, Anadune Discovering Gold, learning her agility basics). The local pair, Anadune Dark Desire and Anadune Dare To Dream, just like to have fun in the snow!

Eleven weeks and four days

Since Maizey, Anadune Discovering Gold, is due to fly off to the US tomorrow, we took all the pups out for a long walk, so she would be tired out for her long flight. She particulaly liked meeting the horses!

Eleven weeks and three days

It's getting very difficult to keep the pups off the equipment — a different solution to one person / two people by each piece of equipment is needed!

Ten weeks and two days

The pups went to visit their sister Sparkle (Anadune Dynamite) and got to enjoy some green grass playtime!

Nine weeks and two days

Both Milo and Sparkle have had good first nights in their new homes — so far everyone's settled really well for their first lonely night in their crates, so all the crate training they had before they left obviously paid off :)

Eight weeks and six days

Anadune Dynamite, Sparkle, and Anadune Dreamed A Dream, Milo, both left today: a few more photos of them post their baths :)

Anadune Diamond Delight, Pepper, went to her new home today, so we took a few photos of her before she left. She's settled in well, and even had a very quiet first night!

A video of the pups meeting a marrow bone for the first time is available here — some definitely thought that it might eat them rather than the other way around.

A long day for the pups: they all went for their hearing and eye tests (they are normal for CEA by parentage, but better safe than sorry!). Everyone passed, and they all coped brilliantly with 6 hours in the car!

A remodel for the pups which gives them a bigger area to explore. The other dogs now have access to the outside of the puppy pen — they think it's great! A short video of the pups enjoying their 'freedom' — they'd already been zooming for a while, so some were quite tired by this point!

Three weeks!

The pups' first proper photo shoot: it's really not that easy at 3 weeks old, hopefully they'll be able to show off how pretty they really are in a weeks' time. The first black girl in particular wasn't enjoying her session and kept trying to disappear off — she does have a level topline, honest!

Birth

Our six puppies were born between 2:17am and 15:52. Photos below in order of appearance. My greatest thanks go to Bruce & Sheena whose night's sleep was disturbed with a very panicked text asking for advice (and again another 12 hours later...), to Bri who kept me company, long-distance, all the way through the birth of the bulk of the pups (we thought she was done after the four girls!), and Chris whose reassurance and advice made the second batch of pups possible.

Parents (litter pedigree)

We have a litter out of our highly versatile girl Eowyn to the very lovely boy, Int Ch Simaro Bruce Darnell, Anakin. Both parents have a beautiful structure, something they both pass on to their offspring: Eo's daughter Buffy, Am Ch Anadune Chosen One, became an American Champion in 8 shows, at the age of 9 months and 2 days. Anakin has sired a number of beautifully structured offspring in many countries. Both parents are also highly workable, Anakin does obedience and search & rescue, and Eo is a herding and agility girl, and they have both done very well in conformation: Anakin has had group places, group wins and Best in Shows as well as one UK Kennel Club CC (and an RCC with a RBiS which he got while he was visiting us in the UK), while Eo did incredibly well at the BC Nationals in 2009.

The main thing I liked about Anakin was his temperament: the first time I met him, he rolled over for me, and I have seen how affectionate he is with puppies :) His owners have kindly allowed us to borrow him so we could have this special litter, and he's been an absolutely lovely house guest.

The offspring of both parents all have plenty of drive and aptitude for agility, obedience and herding, we are therefore only looking for performance homes for this litter — homes where the puppies will be worked in some way, be it obedience, agility or herding, and they will obviously also be suitable for conformation. If you are interested in this litter, please email us describing your living situation and the plans for your Anadune puppy.
